https://embodiedjewishlearning.org/Julie Emden, E-RYT-500, Halprin Practitioner, is the Founding Director of Embodied Jewish Learning in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is passionate about awakening the body as a gateway to inner knowing and guides others in somatic explorations of Jewish wisdom teachings as a resource for living in balance and wholeness. A graduate of five fellowship and teaching certification programs related to her work as a Jewish educator, movement/expressive artist, and Iyengar-based yoga instructor, Julie has over two decades of experience guiding others in exploring Jewish wisdom, text and practices via the body in a variety of settings.
Embodied Jewish Learning elevates the wisdom of the body in Jewish life and recently launched a global network for teachers of Embodied Jewish Wisdom. We offer podcasts, webinars, classes, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, and individual coaching. Julie co-created and teaches on faculty with Shalem: The Jewish Wellness Initiative at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center and she served most recently on faculty with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Educating for a Jewish Spiritual Life Project.
