Intermediate understanding
Movement not required
Likely neutral
In this session, we will start with an introduction to yoga psychology or, the body-mind connection. The first part of the practice will therefore be a talk that explains the perfect combination of the yogic tools (mapped out through the chakra system)with the western psychotherapeutic approach to finding inner harmony. We will end with a practical experience including asana/pranayama and guided meditation.
Learning outcomes
1. An understanding of the nervous system's reaction to a very personal identified "threat" of danger. Understanding that what triggers our "fight or flight" response is highly subjective.
2. A introductory explanation to the chakra system (based on 7 chakras)
3. Actual tools for calming the nervous system as well as asanas/poses and visualisations
