Unprocessed shame is insidious, contagious and inherited. It diminishes our self-worth, chokes our capacity for pleasure, fractures relationships, and traumatises whole groups of people. But when we nudge shame out of the shadows and learn to transmute it, we can reclaim our aliveness, worth and wellbeing, and create the communities we long to belong to. Through mythology, anthropology, neurobiology and embodied practice, Kirstie explores the origins and nature of shame, and how we can grow shame-resilient families that rise strong in the face of a shaming culture.
